The Other Side of the Story
Breathes there the man with soul so dead
Who never to himself hath said,
“This is my own, my native land!”
O Liberty ! What crimes are committed in your
name? Beginnings are important…like the seeds hold a tree, our beginnings hold
a destiny. How important do you think a constitution is for your party? The
question was a fidgetedly an uncomfortable one. Peace was the first thing the Anglo
sang. It’s the mother of unity, rest of blessed souls, a dwelling place for
eternity. We must take the nation of the world as they are; the human passions
and prejudices of people as they exist, & find some way to secure…..a
peaceful world.
I wonder where there is no digital
activism around the globe. Everyone activates a Facebook account. Let me know
who doesn’t have it when he has a sense of A, B, C? Those who are engaged to
flesh trade, trick of the trade to click the trade mark of kalo-dhanda are even using utmost. Everybody wants to
promote their business via networking. In such a way, there are some accounts
made who give a wakeup call to the CA members for the lively constitution. How
it’s better to launch such alert campaign by the one who makes his days busy only to makes his ends
meet, who is alcoholic rather workaholic. I have seen many are at its publicity
stunt. I don’t mind doing such event by people having social recognition status
who have guts to share the dare. However, for unity or for consolidation, what
binds us together than what separates us. Our observation is that currently
things that separate us are enduringly strong (our egos, our certainties, our
habits not our political learning, ethnicities). The glue that binds us is weak
quality (patriotism, slogan, frustration). Take a serious note on this- have I
done my bit well towards greater goal not who hoards as the spot light?
How far the lay man aware of “constitution”
term? What perks and advantage them may get? How it enters to their livelihood
to maintain fraternity? Neither has the one who stood tall in front of Big White
House, nor bacterial colony like crowd at Tundikhel
give the right meaning of Constitution. Of not making
Constitution, Has the plane got crashed down? Nepalese are not brain drained?
Common denizens not making their ends meet? Problems relating state affairs
have not been solved? Then, what are the salient advantageous features of not
drafting constitution in stipulated time? Why’s such big mournful cry making the
string twang? It’s some mere of my vignettes. Time Machine is not my question. If
Constitution would have been drafted within 2/3 years, people no doubtedly
compare it with a thesis/dissertation. How conceive it prematurely? It is
likely happening such- the day I didn’t sweep the house there came to one I
didn’t expect. Having said that, I am not against constitution. I am not in favor
of the simulated politics & its Diasporas. Those respected 601 CA members
must be committed to draft a constitution which has made a big wheel and deal. They
should not utilize their tiempo playing a blame game rather than issuing it in
public interest. The seriously unsolved question in Nepal today, however, is what
exactly constitutes a good constitution. May CA get its political legitimacy?
Does it mean a democratic constitution, with a limited government, independence
of judiciary, separation of powers, & check & balances? Does it mean a
system of federalism, pluralism & feudalism? The building of a progressive,
inclusive and democratic state, to end the existing centralized & unitary
structure of government, now seems to be in limbo.
Fie! What a spendthrift they are of their tongue? We have
faith in you as otherwise how Columbus
found a path across untried waters? We have a situation in which PM’s office is
held by a person who holds office but no authority & the person who has the
authority has no accountability. This is no democracy. They should not have
done dogs barking on, & the caravan going on.
The one theme
of Ecclesisstes is moderation. Buddha wrote that the great word in any language
was Equanimity. William Moris said the first blessing of life was systematic,
useful wifery. St. Paul
declared the greatest thing in the world was love, moderation, equanimity - let
these be your physicians, & you won’t need other.
People wrangle
for religion, write for it, fight for it, die for it; anything but live for it.
This is the current trend of how Nepal is facing. Anyway, the quest
for dignity is that we have our wish & you have your command for the “Ramro
Hamro Sambidhan” though it has been its high time a delay. Let no
more waters flow at Bagmati after August 28. Do not
delay, but do not rush. Sink or swim, live or die, survive or perish, I have
already given my hand & the best intellect to this vote for Constitution
that is to be applauded. Let it could represent every of the minorities. May it
could sensitize every inferior categories. National & International
delegates could recognize the X-factor of our Constitution.
